minx2They start all the horses using only non-violent methods. They never use artificial aids or gadets on horses durng any of their training. They seek to understand each horses temperament and take extra time where necessary. It is paramount that the horse remains relaxed and confident during the starting process, they are careful not to overload or confuse the horse during this time.

All horses leave Jarrara Park with a sound understanding of the basic aids in all gaits, working in straight lines and circles, with and without other horses. They are very careful with young horses' mouths and allow the horses to search for and accept the bit in their own time. cleobreakAll horses are schooled in hand and under saddle.

Their starting program includes daily grooming, rugging, float/truck loading and farrier handling. Horses are worked 6 days per week. They are happy to assist with any additional requests. The extent of the horse's education during the starting process depends on their individual level of maturity and strength. Some horses however, are ready to begin their competition careers by the end of their time with them.

It can be a daunting experience for a young horse to be moved from its comfortable home environment to a new place. Wayne aims to make their stay at Jarrara Park as stress free as possble. They provide individual safe post and rail and electric paddocks. Horses are fed twice daily at regular times and provided with only excellent quality hard feed and premium hay. They are very particular in managing the weight and condition of horses in their care and take pride in turning them out with good muscle tone, top line and excellent overall condition.

They are always happy to have owners watch their horses training sessions and monitor the progress of their horse. They encourage owners to have at least 1 ride of their newly broken horse before it leaves Jarrara Park, They provide a lesson and give you pointers and tips for working with your horse.

Many people find the idea of working with a freshly broken young horse quite intimidating, Wayne & Penny are happy to provide on-going help and support, lessons or additional training if required.
