Wayne and Penny Austin run Jarrara Park, they share a passion for training horses as well as a common philosophy on horse management, together they bring a vast amount of knowledge, experience and horsemanship to thier work with horses.
About Wayne:
Wayne comes from a family of outstanding horsemen. He has years of experiance both in Australia and overseas. Wayne is not confined by mainstream ideas and continually seeks to further his knowledge and to find solutions with many horses that would otherwise be written off as lost causes. He is an empathetic handler and a relaxed and persistent trainer. He has had amazing results with horses that have come with terrible behavioural issues. Some had been to multiple trainers with out success before coming to Wayne and being successfully rehabilitated.
Wayne does all the handling and starting of the young horses. He has had many years of performance horse competition experience but today has a strong interest in horse behavioural science and training thoroughbreds.
About Penny:
Penny is a unique and brilliant horse women, she starting riding at a very young age and horses have always been a part of her existence. She is a qualified coach and studied Equine Science at CSU. She has a vast competition history, extensively competing in eventing, riding at all the major events on the circuit and bringing on a number of ex-race and young horses through the grades. She also is exceptionally talented as a straight dressage rider, as well as having extensive show jumping experience. Penny has a name as an excellent young horse trainer and competitor, in 2009, she competed in the young horse classes at the dressge CDI, the Sydney 3 Day Event, as well as the ISS Show jumping Classic, sucessfully placing on horses that Jarrara Park started and trained. Once Wayne has successfully started the young horses Penny continues their education, and often times will ride them in their first competitions for their owners.
